Amazon is the king of the on-line sellers of new books. If a book is in print, you can
get it from them. They discount most books and have reasonable shipping terms
and lead times. Their database does include some used and rare books, which they offer
to search for.

The big retailer, challenging Amazon in the on-line arena. You be the judge of who's
site is easier to use and better designed. Used books are available through an arrangement
with ABE.
