Deer Creek Pottery
Color Palettes and Custom Tile Design Tool

We have created a tool to help our customers choose color combinations for our tiles. All that is required is a bit-map paint program such as Corel Photo-Paint or Zsoft Photostyler (for Windows), or Adobe Photoshop or Aldus Superpaint (for Macintosh). that has the following capabilities:
-works with gif files
-can have mutliple images open simultaneously
(Note: Unfortunately, Windows Paintbrush does not meet these requirements.)

Windows Users: If you do not have a paint program, a shareware evaluation copy of an excellent program called Paint Shop Pro® is available for download.

Deer Creek Digital Color Palette

These color palettes show our range of sixty low fire colors for use in our cloisonné tiles. All three of the palettes have been converted to a single easy to use digital color palette.

Using the design tool is easy. First, select the digital color palette. After it is displayed, use your Web browser's "Save as..." command to save it on your computer.

Now, please choose a design sketch from our Decorative Designs Page. Again, wait for your Web browser to display the sketch and use the "Save as..." command to save it on your computer.

Now, run your paint program and open both the color palette and the decorative design. You can now fill the gray areas of the decorative design with any color from the palette using the color picker tool (often the "eyedropper" tool) and the flood fill tool (often a "paint roller" or "paint bucket" tool). The manual or on-line help for your paint program will tell you which tools to use for your particular program.

Once you have a color combination you like, save the new design. Then, you can contact your nearest Deer Creek Distributor to order a strike-off.

Windows Users: If you'd like to download the digital color palette, a complete set of our decorative design sketches, and a description of our glazes, please click here. You will receive a compressed file of 145Kb called dcpdesgn.exe, suitable for DOS/Windows. To decompress the images, simply run the program dcpdesgn.exe. No other software is necessary. The file is a self-extracting, compressed archive and will place all of the images and palettes in the directory where the archive is saved.

Macintosh Users: If you'd like to download the digital color palette, a complete set of our decorative design sketches, and a description of our glazes, please click here. You will receive a file of 168Kb called dcp_design.sit, suitable for Macintosh. All you need to do is Un-Stuff the file in the directory of your choice.
