Custom Work is gratifying because of its personalized nature, and because it enables me to utilize my training in design, calligraphy, and ceramics. I consider my specialty to be hand-carved tile.

Handmade ceramic tile is the wonderful and sometimes mysterious product of the combined forces of earth, wather, fire, air and the creative energy of the tilemaker. The possibilities are endless and often unpredictable. It is imperative that the potential client understand and appreciate this when they consider commissioning a work of tile art.

The price of my custom work is determined by the size and complexity of the tile itself. On one-of-a-kind commissions, I charge a non-refundable design fee up front. (The amount again depends on the job, and may include a charge for glaze tests.) Upon approval of the drawings and glaze samples, one-half of the cost of the total job is expected, the balance paid upon delivery. Shipping is F.O.B Occidental, California.
